Ingredients

  • 6 large jalapeño peppers
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes
  • 1 spray cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Carefully slice each jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Take a handful of breakfast sausage and flatten it in your palm. Place a jalapeño half, hollow side up, in the center of the sausage, then fill it with the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Encase the jalapeño completely by molding the sausage around it and sealing the edges. Repeat with all jalapeño halves.
  6. Roll each stuffed jalapeño in crushed cornflakes to coat evenly.
  7. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the wrapped jalapeños in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not touching.
  8. Cook in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and golden brown. Flip them halfway through for even cooking.
  9. Once finished, allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve on a rustic wooden board with ranch dressing or a spicy dipping sauce. Garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions.
