Air Fryer Armadillo Eggs Delicious Flavorful Snack
Ingredients
- 6 large jalapeño peppers
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes
- 1 spray cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully slice each jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until smooth.
- Take a handful of breakfast sausage and flatten it in your palm. Place a jalapeño half, hollow side up, in the center of the sausage, then fill it with the cream cheese mixture.
- Encase the jalapeño completely by molding the sausage around it and sealing the edges. Repeat with all jalapeño halves.
- Roll each stuffed jalapeño in crushed cornflakes to coat evenly.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the wrapped jalapeños in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not touching.
- Cook in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and golden brown. Flip them halfway through for even cooking.
- Once finished, allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.
