Air Fryer BBQ Stuffed Chicken Simple and Flavorful Meal
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce. This will be your stuffing.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut a pocket into each chicken breast, taking care not to cut all the way through.
- Season the outside and inside of the chicken pockets generously with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each chicken breast with the cheese and bacon mixture, dividing it equally among the breasts.
- Drizzle olive oil over the stuffed chicken breasts and rub it all over to coat.
- Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- In the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining BBQ sauce on top of each chicken breast for added flavor.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
💡 Chef's Notes
Slice each chicken breast in half to reveal the gooey filling, and serve on a platter garnished with chopped fresh parsley and additional BBQ sauce drizzled on top.
