Air Fryer Cinnamon Apple Chips Crisp and Delicious Treat
Ingredients
- 2 large apples (your choice of variety, like Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
- 1 pinch salt
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the apples thoroughly and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or a sharp knife. Remove the seeds and cores from the slices.
- In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt. If using vanilla extract, mix it into the apples before adding the sugar mixture.
- Place the apple slices in a large bowl. Pour the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apple slices and toss well to ensure all slices are evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Lay the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure they cook evenly.
- Cook the apple slices in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they become crispy and lightly browned. Cooking time may vary based on the thickness of the slices and the model of your air fryer.
- Once cooked, remove the apple chips and let them cool fully on a wire rack. They will continue to crisp as they cool.
💡 Chef's Notes
For a healthier option, use coconut sugar instead of regular sugar.
