Baked Feta Pasta With Tomato Simple and Tasty Dish
Ingredients
- 200 g pasta of your choice (penne or fusilli works great)
- 200 g feta cheese, block
- 500 g cherry tomatoes, halved
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- to taste Salt and pepper
- for garnish Fresh basil leaves
- for serving Grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large baking dish, combine the halved cherry tomatoes and minced garlic. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, sprinkle with oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, and toss everything together.
- Place the block of feta cheese in the center of the tomato mixture. Drizzle the top of the feta with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a pinch of salt on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the tomatoes are blistered and the feta is golden and softened.
- While the feta and tomatoes are baking, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Once the feta and tomatoes are out of the oven, use a fork to mash the feta into the tomatoes, creating a creamy sauce.
- Add the cooked pasta into the baking dish and stir to combine everything until the pasta is well coated in the cheesy tomato mixture.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese if desired.
