Balsamic Caprese Skewers Tasty and Simple Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
- to taste fresh basil leaves
- 1 quarter cup balsamic glaze
- to taste salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- as needed skewers (wooden or metal)
Instructions
- Rinse the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- On each skewer, thread a cherry tomato followed by a fresh basil leaf, and then a mozzarella ball. Repeat the process until each skewer has 2-3 tomatoes, basil leaves, and mozzarella balls (depending on skewer length).
- Once all the skewers are assembled, arrange them neatly on a serving platter.
- Drizzle the balsamic glaze generously over the skewers, ensuring each one gets a nice coating.
- Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
- Optionally, let the skewers sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together before serving.
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve the skewers on a long platter or a wooden board. You can add extra balsamic glaze in a small bowl for dipping and garnish with a few whole basil leaves for an elegant touch.
