Ingredients

  • 9 ounces cheese tortellini, fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked tortellini with marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the tortellini mixture into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese over the tortellini layer.
  6. Add the remaining tortellini mixture on top, then sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over it.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
