Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks Tasty and Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3.75 cups warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 0.5 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well to distribute the dry ingredients.
- Slowly add the warm water and olive oil to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough in the bowl for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Make shallow cuts in the dough to create stick shapes. This will help in separating them after baking.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and dried herbs. Brush this mixture evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese generously over the dough, ensuring to cover it well.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the breadsticks are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes, then cut along the pre-scored lines into individual breadsticks.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
