Cherry Agua Fresca Refreshing Summer Drink Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 4 cups water
- 0.25 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
- to taste fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by rinsing the cherries under cold water. Remove the pits and slice them in half. Place the prepared cherries in a blender.
- Add 2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of sugar to the blender. Blend until completely smooth, about 30 seconds.
- Once blended, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove the pulp and skins. Use the back of a spoon to press down on the mixture to extract as much juice as possible.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of water and the freshly squeezed lime juice to the pitcher. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if needed.
- Chill the Agua Fresca in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve over ice in glasses, garnishing with fresh mint leaves for an added touch of flavor and aroma.
