Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe avocado, mashed
  • 0.5 cup coconut sugar
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 cup almond flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the mashed avocado, coconut sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
  3. Sift in the cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda to avoid lumps. Stir until evenly blended.
  4. Add the almond flour and combine until you achieve a nice batter consistency. If desired, use a hand mixer for an extra smooth mixture.
  5. Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).
  8. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. Once completely cooled, cut into squares or rectangles for serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve the brownies on a wooden cutting board, dusted with a light sprinkle of cocoa powder for elegance, and add fresh berries on the side for a pop of color. For an extra treat, drizzle a bit of melted dark chocolate on top.
