Chocolate Avocado Mousse Creamy and Decadent Delight
Ingredients
- 2 whole ripe avocados
- 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 0.5 cup maple syrup or honey
- 0.25 cup almond milk or any milk of choice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch sea salt
- to taste optional toppings: whipped coconut cream, fresh berries, or crushed nuts
Instructions
- Start by cutting the avocados in half and removing the pits. Scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
- Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), almond milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt to the blender.
- Blend the mixture on high speed until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency, scraping down the sides as needed. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more maple syrup or honey. Blend again briefly to mix.
- Once the mousse is well combined and smooth, transfer it into small serving cups or bowls.
- Chill the mousse in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the mousse to firm up slightly.
- Before serving, top each cup with whipped coconut cream, fresh berries, or a sprinkle of crushed nuts for added texture and visual appeal.
💡 Chef's Notes
Chill the mousse for better flavor and texture.
