Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie Irresistible Dessert Delight
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3.4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 0.5 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet (preferably cast iron), melt the softened butter over low heat. Remove from heat once melted and let it cool slightly.
- Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the skillet, stirring until well combined with the butter.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the skillet, stirring just until combined; do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the skillet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is slightly soft.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. You can optionally top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent finish!
