Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
  • 0.5 cup creamy almond butter
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, almond butter, and brown sugar. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the banana mixture, whisking until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently stir in the dark chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts, reserving a few for topping if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips and hazelnuts on top for added texture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

💡 Chef's Notes

For extra flavor, you can toast the hazelnuts before adding them to the batter.
