Crispy Garlic Green Beans Flavorful Side Dish Delight
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, for garnish
- lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch them for 2-3 minutes until bright green but still crisp. Drain and quickly transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking. Drain again after a few minutes and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
- Heat the Oils: In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat.
- Sauté Garlic: Add the sliced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant and golden, but be careful not to burn it.
- Add Green Beans: Toss in the blanched green beans and red pepper flakes. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, allowing the beans to become crispy and take on a golden color.
- Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste during the cooking process.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the green beans are crispy to your liking, remove them from heat. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top for an extra crunch. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for a zesty kick.
