Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • as needed cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken tenders with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Let it marinate on the counter for about 15 minutes.
  2. In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each chicken tender in flour, shaking off excess, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs. Repeat for all tenders.
  4. In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of cooking oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Carefully place the chicken tenders in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sauce is smooth and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  7. Once the chicken tenders are fried, toss them in the warm honey garlic sauce until they are well coated.
  8. Place the sauced chicken tenders on a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining honey garlic sauce over the top.
