Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 16 pieces wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup Oil, for frying
  • 0.5 cup crushed graham crackers
  • to taste cup additional powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, and mix until well combined.
  3. Gently fold in the finely chopped strawberries until evenly distributed in the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place about one tablespoon of the strawberry cheesecake filling in the center of each wrapper.
  5. Brush the edges of the wonton wrappers with water to help seal them. Fold the wrappers diagonally into triangles and press the edges tightly to seal them securely.
  6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot (around 350°F or 175°C), carefully add a few wonton bites at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  7. Fry the wonton bites for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. In a shallow dish, combine the crushed graham crackers and sprinkle some powdered sugar on top for dusting.
  9. While the bites are still warm, roll them in the graham cracker mixture to coat.
  10. Serve warm, dusted with additional powdered sugar for a sweet finishing touch.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve the wonton bites on a platter alongside a small bowl of fresh strawberries for added color and appeal.
