Easy Lemon Bars Simple and Tasty Dessert Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
- 0.25 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
- Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbly and combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form a crust.
- Bake the crust in the oven for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, in a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and baking powder until smooth.
- Once the crust is done, remove it from the oven and pour the lemon filling over the hot crust.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment paper (if used) and dust with powdered sugar before cutting into squares.
