Easy Sausage and Egg Casserole Simple Breakfast Delight
Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups hash browns, thawed (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 0.5 cup diced bell peppers (red and green)
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- optional fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the thawed hash browns evenly across the bottom. This will be the base of the casserole.
- Evenly distribute the cooked and crumbled sausage over the hash browns, followed by the diced bell peppers.
- Pour the egg mixture over the sausage, hash browns, and bell peppers, making sure it's evenly covered.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes before slicing. This helps to hold the pieces together.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
