Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • to taste Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • a pinch of salt
  • to taste Balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush each slice with olive oil.
  3. Bake the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 6-8 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
  4. While the bread is toasting, prepare the cream cheese mixture. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Once the baguette slices are out of the oven and slightly cooled, spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on each slice.
  6. Top each crostini with a few slices of fresh strawberries.
  7. For an extra touch, drizzle a small amount of balsamic glaze over the strawberries (optional) and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy your elegant appetizer!
