Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • optional fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by patting the steak cubes dry with paper towels. This helps get a nice sear on them later.
  2. Season the steak bites generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the seasoned steak bites in a single layer.
  4. Sear the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side, ensuring they are browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness (medium-rare is ideal).
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter, minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet with the steak. Allow them to cook together for an additional 1-2 minutes, basting the steak bites in the garlicky butter.
  6. Once the garlic is fragrant and the butter has melted completely, remove from heat.
  7. Transfer the steak bites to a serving platter, and drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the top.
  8. If desired, garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
