Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh egg noodles
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, sliced thinly
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 bell pepper red or yellow, sliced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, tossing them lightly with a dash of sesame oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced steak in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Sear for 2 minutes on each side or until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Toss in the sliced bell pepper and half of the chopped green onions. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the veggies are just tender.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet. Stir in the cooked noodles, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Gently toss everything together until the noodles are well-coated and heated through.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings with extra salt, pepper, or soy sauce as desired.
  7. Remove from heat and top with the remaining green onions and a generous sprinkle of sesame seeds.
