Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)
  • sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the honey garlic marinade over them, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge for more flavor).
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the marinated salmon on the sheet, skin-side down.
  5. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Optional: In the last 2-3 minutes, switch the oven to broil to caramelize the top for a golden touch.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Serve warm, drizzled with leftover marinade if desired, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

💡 Chef's Notes
