Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk (canned or carton)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 4 ice cubes
  • a pinch sea salt
  • optional shredded coconut and matcha powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder to eliminate any clumps.
  2. Add the cold water to the matcha and whisk vigorously until the mixture is frothy and well combined, using a bamboo whisk or a small kitchen whisk.
  3. In a separate glass or jar, combine the coconut milk, honey (or agave syrup), and a pinch of sea salt. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved.
  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the whisked matcha over the ice.
  5. Gently pour the coconut milk mixture over the top of the matcha. The layers will create a beautiful gradient effect.
  6. If desired, top it with shredded coconut and a sprinkle of matcha powder for an extra touch.
  7. Stir well before drinking to combine the flavors.

Adjust sweetness to taste with honey or agave syrup.
