Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup
  • 4 cups ice
  • 1 cup water
  • to taste fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the fresh blackberries, lemon juice, honey (or agave syrup), and water. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Strain the blackberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl to remove the seeds, using a spatula or spoon to push through as much juice as possible.
  3. Return the strained liquid to the blender and add the ice. Blend again until the mixture is slushy and all the ice is finely crushed.
  4. Taste the slush and adjust sweetness, adding more honey if desired, then blend again briefly to combine.
  5. Pour the slush into chilled glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves if using. Enjoy immediately!
