Ingredients

  • 1 baguette freshly baked baguette
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) if you want the baguettes warm and crispy.
  2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.
  3. Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil evenly over the cut sides.
  4. Lightly sprinkle red pepper flakes across each half, adjusting the amount based on your spice preference.
  5. Bake the baguette in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
  6. Remove the baguette from the oven and layer the sliced tomatoes evenly on each half.
  7. Next, add the fresh mozzarella slices on top of the tomatoes, followed by fresh basil leaves.
  8. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled toppings.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Cut the baguette into manageable pieces, serve immediately, and enjoy!
