Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0 to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 0 for garnish fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Rinse the asparagus under cold water and trim the tough ends off.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the trimmed asparagus to the skillet and toss to coat in the melted butter and garlic mixture.
  5. Cook the asparagus for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender but still crisp.
  6. Drizzle the lemon juice and sprinkle lemon zest over the asparagus. Toss to combine and heat through for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top while tossing.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Optional to add Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
