Mango Salsa with Avocado Simple and Fresh Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 whole ripe mangoes, diced
- 2 whole ripe avocados, diced
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1 whole red bell pepper, diced
- 1 whole jalapeño, deseeded and minced
- 2 whole limes, juiced
- 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preparing the ingredients: dice the mangoes and avocados into small, even pieces to ensure a good mix.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced mangoes and avocados.
- Add the finely chopped red onion, diced red bell pepper, and minced jalapeño to the bowl.
- Squeeze the juice of 2 limes over the mixture. This not only adds flavor but also prevents the avocados from browning.
- Gently toss the ingredients together with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, being careful not to mash the avocados.
- Add the fresh cilantro and season with salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer a touch of sweetness, drizzle in the honey or agave syrup and mix again.
- Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld, or refrigerate if making ahead for a party.
💡 Chef's Notes
