Ingredients
- 8 slices thick bread (like brioche or challah)
- 1 cup Nutella
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Butter or oil for frying
- 1 cup Powdered sugar for dusting
- as needed Fresh strawberries or bananas for serving
Instructions
- Start by preparing the Nutella stuffed sandwiches. Take a slice of bread, spread about 2 tablespoons of Nutella on one side, and top it with another slice of bread to create a sandwich. Repeat this for all 4 sandwiches.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter or oil to coat the surface.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated but not overly soaked.
- Place the sandwiches in the hot skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Make sure to check the heat to avoid burning.
- Once cooked, remove from skillet and set on a plate.
- Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
- Slice the stuffed French toast in half to reveal the melted Nutella inside, and serve with fresh strawberries or bananas on the side.
