Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags black tea
  • 2 ripe peaches peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup honey
  • as needed cubes ice cubes
  • as needed slices lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove the water from the heat and add the black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  3. While the tea is steeping, combine the sliced peaches and fresh basil leaves in a blender. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to extract the juice. Discard the pulp.
  4. After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and stir in the honey while the tea is still warm, allowing it to dissolve completely.
  5. Pour the peach-basil juice into the sweetened tea, mixing well. Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature.
  6. Once cooled, transfer the tea mix to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until chilled.
  7. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled Peach Basil Iced Tea over the ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and a few additional basil leaves if desired.

💡 Chef's Notes
