Peach Basil Iced Tea Refreshing Summer Beverage Delight
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags black tea
- 2 ripe peaches peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup honey
- as needed cubes ice cubes
- as needed slices lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Once boiling, remove the water from the heat and add the black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
- While the tea is steeping, combine the sliced peaches and fresh basil leaves in a blender. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to extract the juice. Discard the pulp.
- After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and stir in the honey while the tea is still warm, allowing it to dissolve completely.
- Pour the peach-basil juice into the sweetened tea, mixing well. Allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature.
- Once cooled, transfer the tea mix to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until chilled.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled Peach Basil Iced Tea over the ice. Garnish with a lemon slice and a few additional basil leaves if desired.
