Philly Cheesesteak Casserole Hearty Comfort Meal
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or steak, thinly sliced
- 1 each onion, diced
- 1 each green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- to taste salt and pepper
- 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or elbow recommended)
- 1.5 cups shredded provolone cheese
- 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the diced onion, green bell pepper, and sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Add the ground beef or sliced steak to the skillet, stirring in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until the meat is well browned.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta and the meat mixture. Pour in the beef broth and half of the provolone cheese, stirring to combine evenly.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining provolone and cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are slightly golden.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
