Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 each onion, diced
  • 1 each green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or elbow recommended)
  • 1.5 cups shredded provolone cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the diced onion, green bell pepper, and sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef or sliced steak to the skillet, stirring in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until the meat is well browned.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta and the meat mixture. Pour in the beef broth and half of the provolone cheese, stirring to combine evenly.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining provolone and cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are slightly golden.
  8. Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
