Ingredients

  • 2 fillets salmon (6 oz each)
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • as needed lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare a large sheet of aluminum foil, about 12 inches long.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the center of the foil sheet, skin side down.
  5. Arrange the trimmed asparagus around the salmon.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil mixture evenly over the salmon and asparagus, making sure everything is coated well.
  7. Fold the sides of the foil together to create a sealed packet, leaving some space for steam to accumulate.
  8. Carefully transfer the foil packet to a baking sheet and place it in the oven.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  10. Once done, remove from the oven and let the foil packet sit for about 5 minutes before opening to allow the steam to escape.
  11. Serve the salmon and asparagus directly from the foil, garnished with lemon slices.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve the salmon and asparagus on a wooden board directly from the foil for a rustic look or on a clean white plate with additional lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh dill on top for an elegant presentation.
