Savory Baked Salmon in Foil with Asparagus Dish
Ingredients
- 2 fillets salmon (6 oz each)
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon zested and juiced
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- to taste salt and pepper
- as needed lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare a large sheet of aluminum foil, about 12 inches long.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets in the center of the foil sheet, skin side down.
- Arrange the trimmed asparagus around the salmon.
- Drizzle the olive oil mixture evenly over the salmon and asparagus, making sure everything is coated well.
- Fold the sides of the foil together to create a sealed packet, leaving some space for steam to accumulate.
- Carefully transfer the foil packet to a baking sheet and place it in the oven.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let the foil packet sit for about 5 minutes before opening to allow the steam to escape.
- Serve the salmon and asparagus directly from the foil, garnished with lemon slices.
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve the salmon and asparagus on a wooden board directly from the foil for a rustic look or on a clean white plate with additional lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh dill on top for an elegant presentation.
