Savory Beef & Shell Pasta Bliss Hearty Dinner Delight
Ingredients
- 8 oz large shell pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper diced (any color)
- 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 0.5 teaspoon chili flakes (optional for heat)
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- for garnish fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the shell pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Use a spatula to break up the meat as it cooks.
- Stir in the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper into the skillet. Cook until the onion becomes translucent and the pepper softens, about 4-5 minutes.
- Mix in the drained diced tomatoes and pour in the beef broth. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, chili flakes, and season with salt and pepper. Allow to simmer for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Fold the cooked shell pasta into the beef mixture until well combined. Allow everything to cook together for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the beef and pasta mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for about 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese melts.
- Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve in a large bowl family-style or plate individually, with extra cheese on top and garnished with parsley. Consider a side of garlic bread for a complete meal. Enjoy!
