Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish sesame seeds
  • for garnish chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Start by washing the fresh green beans and trimming the ends. Set them aside.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and both oils (olive and sesame). Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the green beans. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to brighten in color and soften slightly.
  4. Pour the honey garlic mixture over the sautéed green beans and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender-crisp and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
  7. Transfer the green beans to a serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish.

💡 Chef's Notes

Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey.
