Sloppy Joe Nachos Irresistible Comfort Food Delight
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 0.5 cup pickled jalapeños, sliced
- 1 fresh cilantro, for garnish
- 1 sour cream, for serving
- 1 avocado, diced, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the meat, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- On a large baking sheet, evenly spread out a layer of tortilla chips. Top with the Sloppy Joe mixture, black beans, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Remove the nachos from the oven and sprinkle with sliced jalapeños and fresh cilantro.
- Serve hot with diced avocado and sour cream on the side.
💡 Chef's Notes
Serve the nachos on a large platter, and provide small bowls of sour cream and diced avocado on the side for guests to add as they please. You can also add a sprinkle of extra cilantro for a fresh touch!
