Spiced Apple Cider Donuts Perfect for Fall Treats
Ingredients
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 2 unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 2 baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 2 ground nutmeg
- 1 4 ground ginger
- 1 4 salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 2 powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the apple cider over medium heat until it reduces to 1 cup (about 15-20 minutes). Let it cool slightly.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, reduced apple cider, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust the donuts with powdered sugar before serving.
