Ingredients

  • 2 steaks ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 2 chicken broth
  • 1 4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steaks: Begin by seasoning both sides of the ribeye steaks generously with salt and pepper. Allow the steaks to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes to enhance their flavor.
  2. Cook the Steaks: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steaks and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side (for medium-rare). Adjust cooking time for desired doneness. Once done, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, tenting with foil to keep warm.
  3. Make the Cajun Shrimp Sauce: In the same skillet, add the butter and reduce the heat to medium. Once melted, add the shrimp and sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over them. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  4. Add Flavor: Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant. Then, pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring well to combine. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  5. Serve the Dish: To serve, place each ribeye steak on a plate and generously spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped green onions and parsley for a fresh touch.
