Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup tamarind paste (unsweetened)
  • 0.25 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 0.25 cup agave syrup or honey
  • 1 cup agua fresca or sparkling water
  • as needed cubes ice cubes
  • as needed lime slices for garnish
  • as needed fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the tamarind paste, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Blend until smooth and well mixed.
  2. Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness by adding more agave syrup if desired.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the tamarind mixture and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill the mixture.
  4. Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top.
  5. Top off the drink with agua fresca or sparkling water to add some fizz.
  6. Gently stir the drink with a long spoon to combine the layers.
  7. Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.

💡 Chef's Notes

Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more agave syrup.
