Tamarind Margarita Refreshing Twist on a Classic Drink
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup tamarind paste (unsweetened)
- 0.25 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
- 0.25 cup agave syrup or honey
- 1 cup agua fresca or sparkling water
- as needed cubes ice cubes
- as needed lime slices for garnish
- as needed fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the tamarind paste, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. Blend until smooth and well mixed.
- Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness by adding more agave syrup if desired.
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the tamarind mixture and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill the mixture.
- Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice cubes, leaving some space at the top.
- Top off the drink with agua fresca or sparkling water to add some fizz.
- Gently stir the drink with a long spoon to combine the layers.
- Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
