Ingredients

  • 2 whole ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch sea salt
  • optional fresh berries, coconut whipped cream, or chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. In a food processor or blender, combine the ripe avocados, cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt.
  2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is creamy and smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more maple syrup. If the mousse is too thick, add a little more almond milk until the desired consistency is reached.
  4. Once blended, transfer the mousse into individual serving cups or ramekins.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap or lids and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to cool and firm up.
  6. Before serving, remove from the refrigerator and garnish with your choice of fresh berries, coconut whipped cream, or chopped nuts.
