Zesty Lime Chicken Skewers Flavorful Grilling Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 limes zest
- 3 limes juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey
- to taste fresh cilantro, for garnish
- as needed skewers (wooden or metal)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and honey. Whisk together until well combined.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Once cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
- Serve the skewers with lime wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
💡 Chef's Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for up to 2 hours.
