Ingredients

1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper (red or green), thinly sliced

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Filling: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened.

Add the Steak: Push the veggies to the side, add another tablespoon of olive oil, then add the sliced steak to the pan. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned but still tender. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Roll Out Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle (about 12x16 inches).

Assemble the Stromboli: Lay the cooked steak, peppers, and onions evenly across the center of the dough, leaving about 2 inches on each side. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the filling.

Fold the Dough: Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough over the fillings, tucking the ends as you go to seal in the cheese and steak. Pinch the seam to ensure it is sealed completely.

Egg Wash: Transfer the rolled Stromboli to the prepared baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg to give it a beautiful golden crust.

Cut Slits: Using a sharp knife, make diagonal slits or small holes on top of the Stromboli to allow steam to escape while baking.

Bake: Place the Stromboli in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven, let it rest for about 5 minutes. Slice it into pieces, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.

                      Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve slices of Stromboli on a wooden cutting board with a bowl of marinara sauce for dipping and a sprinkle of fresh parsley for color.
