1 lb ground beef

4 slices of beef bacon

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper, diced

4 slices of melted cheese (American or Cheddar)

2 hero rolls or sandwich rolls

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and your favorite sauce (like mayo or spicy ketchup)

Cook the Beef Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel, leaving a bit of grease in the skillet.

    Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet with the remaining grease, add the chopped onion and diced green bell pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until soft and translucent.

      Brown the Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Break up the meat with a spatula and cook until browned, around 7-10 minutes. Combine with the sautéed onions and peppers.

        Incorporate the Cheese: Once the beef is fully cooked, reduce the heat to low. Place the cheese slices evenly over the meat mixture and cover the skillet. Allow the cheese to melt, which will take about 2-3 minutes.

          Prepare the Rolls: While the cheese is melting, slice the hero rolls in half. You can lightly toast them in a separate pan with a drizzle of olive oil if desired.

            Assemble the Sandwiches: Once the cheese has melted, remove the skillet from heat. Spoon the chopped cheese and beef mixture into the toasted rolls. Crumble the cooked beef bacon on top.
