2largeapples (your choice of variety, like Fuji or Honeycrisp)
1teaspoonground cinnamon
1tablespoonsugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
1pinchsalt
0.5teaspoonvanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Wash the apples thoroughly and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or a sharp knife. Remove the seeds and cores from the slices.
In a small bowl, combine the ground cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt. If using vanilla extract, mix it into the apples before adding the sugar mixture.
Place the apple slices in a large bowl. Pour the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apple slices and toss well to ensure all slices are evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
Lay the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure they cook evenly.
Cook the apple slices in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they become crispy and lightly browned. Cooking time may vary based on the thickness of the slices and the model of your air fryer.
Once cooked, remove the apple chips and let them cool fully on a wire rack. They will continue to crisp as they cool.
Notes
Serve in a rustic bowl or on a platter. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup for extra flavor.
