Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Mix until smooth: Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients together until everything is well incorporated. Be careful not to overwork the mixture to keep the meatballs tender.

Form meatballs: With your hands, take a handful of the mixture and roll it into 1-1.5 inch meatballs. You should get around 12-15 meatballs based on the mixture size.

Arrange on the baking sheet: Place the formed meatballs onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake the meatballs: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).

Add marinara sauce: Once the meatballs are baked, remove them from the oven and pour marinara sauce evenly over each meatball. Return the tray to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to warm the sauce.

Serve and garnish: Take the meatballs out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve the meatballs on a rustic wooden board or a vibrant plate, drizzling extra marinara sauce around the meatballs and topping with grated Parmesan and fresh basil for color. Pair with spaghetti or crusty bread to soak up the sauce!
