Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 large egg

1/2 cup buttermilk (or substitute with milk + 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh raspberries (plus extra for topping)

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan with cooking spray or butter.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.

Fold in Raspberries: Carefully fold in the fresh raspberries, being gentle to avoid breaking them apart too much.

Fill Donut Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the donuts are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth to create the glaze.

Glaze Donuts: Dip the cooled donuts in the glaze or drizzle it on top. Optionally, top with extra fresh raspberries for garnish.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 12 donuts

                        - Presentation Tips: Arrange the donuts on a serving platter and dust with a little additional powdered sugar for a delightful finish. Serve them alongside a small bowl of fresh raspberries for a pop of color!
