4 slices of rustic bread (sourdough or ciabatta preferred)

4 slices of mozzarella cheese

4 slices of cheddar cheese

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1/4 cup pepperoni slices (or your favorite toppings like bell peppers, olives, or mushrooms)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon olive oil

Start by heating a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

    Take two slices of rustic bread and spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice.

      On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer 2 slices of mozzarella and 2 slices of cheddar cheese.

        Add a few spoonfuls of pizza sauce over the cheese, then sprinkle with dried oregano and garlic powder.

          Top with pepperoni slices or your chosen toppings.

            Place the second slice of bread (with the butter side facing out) on top of the toppings to form a sandwich.

              Carefully place the sandwich in the heated skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.

                Flip the sandwich and cook the other side for an additional 4-5 minutes until golden brown and the cheese is gooey.

                  Once both sides are perfectly toasted and the cheese is fully melted, carefully remove the grilled cheese from the pan.

                    Let it cool for a minute before slicing it diagonally. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
