Ingredients

1 loaf of fresh Italian or French bread

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 medium onion, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 cups provolone cheese, shredded

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the steak: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and green bell pepper. Cook until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Combine ingredients: Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Mix well and allow to cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes. If you like some heat, add the crushed red pepper flakes at this stage.

Prepare the bread: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the Italian or French bread in half lengthwise. On each half, layer half of the provolone cheese, then spoon the steak and vegetable mixture evenly over the cheese. Top with the remaining provolone cheese.

Bake: Place the cheesy bread halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is toasted.

Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before slicing into serving pieces.

              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

                - Presentation Tips: Serve the cheesy bread on a wooden cutting board. Consider adding extra parsley on top for a fresh look and serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
