Ingredients

2 cans of crescent roll dough

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for topping)

Fresh fruit (like strawberries or blueberries) for garnish (optional)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for added brightness)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and layer it across the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a single cohesive layer.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Adding the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, blend until fully combined.

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing gently after each addition until the mixture is creamy and smooth.

Fold in the sour cream and lemon zest (if using) until just combined.

Pour the cheesecake filling evenly over the crescent roll layer in the baking dish.

Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it over the filling. Press down slightly to adhere the rolls to the filling.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheesecake filling is set.

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes. Dust the top with powdered sugar.

For serving, cut the casserole into squares and garnish with fresh fruit if desired.
