Ingredients

8 oz (227g) penne pasta

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the marinara sauce along with garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine and heat through for about 3 minutes.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained penne pasta into the pot with the sauce. Toss everything together until the pasta is fully coated with the sauce.

Add Cheeses: Lower the heat and sprinkle in the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheeses melt and become gooey, about 2-3 minutes.

Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the cheesy pasta to serving bowls. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a pop of color and added flavor.
