Ingredients

2 cups water

2 tablespoons loose Earl Grey tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)

1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted

1 tablespoon sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

1 cup milk (dairy or a non-dairy alternative like oat or almond milk)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ice cubes (for iced version)

Instructions

In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and add the Earl Grey tea leaves (or tea bags). Steep for 5 minutes for a strong flavor.

While the tea is steeping, prepare the cherries. In a blender, blend the pitted cherries with the sugar until smooth. If you prefer some texture, pulse it a few times rather than fully blending.

After the tea has steeped, strain the tea into a jug or large bowl to remove the tea leaves. If using tea bags, simply remove them.

Add the cherry puree to the brewed tea and stir to combine.

In a separate container, heat the milk on low heat, stirring constantly to avoid scalding. Once warm, add the vanilla extract and stir well.

For a hot drink, simply pour the cherry Earl Grey mixture into a mug, topping it with the warm vanilla milk. For an iced version, fill a glass with ice, pour in the cherry tea mixture, and then add the cold milk on top.

Stir gently to combine and enjoy!
