Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground chicken

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil for frying

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Mix everything together using your hands or a fork until well blended but do not overmix.

Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick. You should get around 8-10 patties.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a few tablespoons of olive oil.

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd.

Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).

Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces or on a bun with lettuce and tomato for a delightful chicken burger.
