Ingredients

1 small head of green cabbage, chopped

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

Add the ground beef to the skillet, seasoning with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes).

Stir in the drained diced tomatoes and cooked rice into the beef mixture, along with Worcestershire sauce. Ensure everything is well combined.

In a large casserole dish, layer half of the chopped cabbage on the bottom. Spread the beef mixture evenly on top. Then, add the remaining cabbage on top of the beef.

Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, remove the foil and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Once done, let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
